
On June 30, the regional presentation of “STRIVE for a better future: Communities and Civil Society Resilience in Armenia” (STRIVE) Project was held in Gavar for stakeholders of Gegharkunik and Kotayk marzes. STRIVE Project will support the Armenian civil society, youth, active citizens more effectively through volunteerism, knowledge, and experience to increase their interest, involve them in public decision-making and popular initiatives. This Project will support Armenian CSOs to become more resilient, accountable, and innovative.
For three and a half years, about 600 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) will be involved in capacity building activities, forums, joint activities, the project will contribute to the development of volunteerism, the involvement of young people in leadership development courses, and to the implementation of social innovation programs. A grant of around 700 million euros will be contributed to the implementation of various initiatives by CSOs and non-formal groups.
Representatives of partner organizations from Yerevan as well as from Gegharkunik and Kotayk marzes, state administration and local self-government bodies, higher educational institutions and mass media were invited to participate in the meeting.
The project is implemented with EU co-financing and the efforts of local organizations: NEF Belgium, “AGAT Rights Defense Center” for Women with Disabilities NGO, “BLEJAN” Environmental, Social, Business Support NGO, Youth Cooperation Center of Dilijan” NGO, Women’s Development Resource Center Foundation.
