Key Research Findings
- Only 18% of young people reported being highly interested in community life, while 71% expressed moderate interest
- Just 16% follow local social and political news daily, while 7% never do
- 82% have never posted or commented on community-related issues on social media
- 93% are not members of any civil society organization or informal group
- In the past six months, 85% had not participated in any civic activity, and only 10% were involved in volunteer work
- Only 19% have ever participated in a youth-related program or event
Analytical Highlights
- Lack of awareness is a major barrier to active civic participation
- Urban youth are generally more informed than their rural peers
- Youth with higher education levels demonstrate greater interest and engagement than those with only secondary education
- Students are significantly more active in youth events than homemakers or unemployed youth
Purpose and Relevance of the Study
The findings of this study serve as a foundation for:
- Developing a comprehensive youth policy in the Gavar consolidated community
- Creating inclusive and participatory tools for decision-making
- Designing new models to expand civic opportunities and engagement among young people
